Testing Your Visualization Of Scales

A scale is a collection of notes in a particular key or mode. Scales are what tell us what will work within a key when creating chords or melodies.

 

There are dozens of different scale types that exist in music and while you do not have to master “all” of them, you DO need to have VERY good skills in visualizing what the notes are in all the scales that you will play in your chosen style(s) of music.
